Chris joined Shard Capital in April 2013 from Rathbones Investment Management where he was an investment director. His role at Shard Capital includes providing corporate and professional investors with access to non-traditional investment solutions focused on achieving absolute returns for his clients. Chris is also a member of the team at Shard Capital that provides commodity hedging tools to both users and producers of commodities. He has over 25 years experience in both investment management and investment banking and spent nine years at Societe Generale focused on convertible bond arbitrage and equity and credit derivatives. Prior to this Chris formed a joint venture with LME founding member Rudolf Wolf where he set up and ran a CTA fund of funds trading commodity futures and foreign exchange.

Mike joined Shard Capital in July 2014 from Kola Capital LLP, a Multi-Strategy fund he set up in 2012 where he was CIO. He is CIO of the Shard Capital Investment Committee, and also provides advisory services across asset classes to family offices, professional and institutional investors. Mike has over 30 years’ experience in both investment banking and investment management at firms such as Morgan Stanley, Soc Gen and Rathbones, with a specialisation in convertible bonds and equity-linked investments. Mike was CIO at Ansbacher Private Bank between 2005 and 2009, focusing on managing Private Client multi-asset portfolios and recognised with the award for Growth Portfolios from PAM in 2007. He read Law at Exeter University and served a Short Service Commission in the Blues & Royals.
