Gavin Edwards

Head of Operations

Gavin joined the team at Shard Capital in February 2016 as the firm’s Head of Operations. Prior to this Gavin has worked for a number of multi-national investment banks within settlements and NPA before moving on to manage middle office teams covering Syndicate, FX, DCM, Repo and sales desks in both London and Moscow. Gavin graduated from the University of Greenwich with a BA in Accounting and Finance.


Simon Hughes

Head of Marketing

Simon joined Shard Capital in January 2016 with a remit to set up a brand and marketing function. He has 20 years’ marketing, communications and product management experience at Superdrug, BSkyB, BT and Domestic & General. Along the way he has overseen a rebrand, set up a corporate PR function, managed internal comms, commissioned web projects and executed a multitude of ATL/BTL campaigns. And in the process, managed products as diverse as pharmacies and boiler cover through to digital video recorders and remote controls. Simon graduated from the University of Warwick with a BA in History.


Nathan Mills

Head of Settlements

Nathan Mills has over 25 years’ experience of operations in institutional and private client business. Starting at Natwest Markets in 1987. Nathan has worked at Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and Barclays Capital learning and subsequently developing operational procedures in all areas of the trade support environment.
He joined Shard Capital Partners at its outset and manages all middle and back office operations for the business.


Julian Wheeler


Julian is responsible for raising assets and developing business opportunities across Shard Capital’s suite of funds and services.

Julian has been involved in financial markets for 30 years, beginning his career as an equity options broker in the 1980s.  After attaining the full IMRO investment management certificate, he held several senior roles within banks, hedge funds and prop desks, managing equity books or funds with a focus on North America.  Amongst other positions, Julian raised the seed capital for Artefact Partners Global Equity Fund in Australia and New Zealand.
